Nestled in the scenic town of Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY—just an hour's drive from the George Washington Bridge—Camp Olmsted has been a cherished haven for children since 1901. We offer both residential and day summer programs for youth ages 6 to 14, providing a safe and nurturing environment where campers can grow, learn, and thrive.
Our programs feature a wide variety of fun and engaging activities, including swimming, sports, hiking, arts and crafts, live performances, and a ropes challenge course. Each activity is thoughtfully designed to boost campers' self-esteem, foster teamwork, and enhance their social skills.

Things You Need to Know
Who We Serve
Camp Olmsted is located in Cornwall on Hudson, NY and serves boys and girls ages 6 – 14 years old. Our camp program offers both sleepaway and day camp programs designed to offer a variety of fun and engaging activities for campers. For children ages 15-17 years old, Camp Olmsted offers a Camper to Counselor Program.
Scholarships
Camp Olmsted offers full and partial need-based scholarships to eligible participants. Families requesting scholarships must complete the scholarship application and submit all required forms including - proof of income of all adults in the household and copies of tax forms - before any type of scholarship award can be approved. Scholarships are based on financial need and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
Health & Medical
All campers are required to have a physical exam done prior to attending camp. All physicals must be signed, dated and stamped by a medical professional. We will only accept physicals with a date of January 1, 2025 or later. Please make sure to list all allergies and medications on the appropriate forms. Also, note all campers must have age-appropriate immunizations before they are allowed to attend camp. Children without valid medical forms and the required immunizations will NOT be permitted to attend camp. Your child's health and safety are important to us. Our staff includes a nurse who is available 24 hours a day. The closest hospital, St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, is approximately 6 miles away from Camp Olmsted.
Meals & Snacks
Camp Olmsted provides 3 USDA-approved meals each day. We also provide campers with daily snacks. Our staff is able to accommodate most dietary restrictions. Please call us to discuss any special needs your child may have.
What to Bring
Campers need to bring enough clothing to last for at least 12 days. Campers are not allowed to do laundry/wash clothes except in the case of an emergency. Please click on the appropriate link below to see the list of what your child should bring to camp.​
What Not to Bring
Campers should NOT bring cell phones, iPods, MP3 players, video games, radios, jewelry (i.e. watches, rings, bracelets, earrings, etc.), food, expensive cameras, money, weapons, fireworks or inappropriate reading materials to camp. Camp Olmsted is not responsible for the loss and/or theft of any of such items
